Marcia,
The only drives that work with the software are the Plextor brands of drives. They don't make a drive that will go inside a Laptop, so NO your drive will not work.

The only thing that you could do is upgrade to Microstudio 2.609 and Purchase and External USB 2.0 Plextor drive such as the Plextor 712UF, make sure that you don't purchase the 716UF or the 712UF2 models, as they will not work with our current software yet.
