Anyone using NORTON GHOST, be sure to create the RECOVERY BOOT DISC that they suggest.

Something hit my computer before I shut down last night. This morning I could not boot to C:.

When I tried using the XP disc to boot and repair the drive it told me the hard drive was corrupted and could not be repaired.

I remembered having made the RECOVERY BOOT DISC when I installed GHOST.

I was able to boot with it, clone the unaffected D: to C: and everything was back to normal in about 20 minutes.

A key to that also is to copy and paste any additions(new songs, etc) to any of the C: folders to the matching D: folders, saving to do a clone after each operation. I do that after every new addition to the C:, then when a drive is restored out of necessity, nothing is lost.

Since Ghost replaces everything on the target drive, an automatic format is achieved, eliminating that step. As quarantined viruses and spywares build up on C: I simply clone the unaffected D: to C: and get rid of them, leaving all files in clean, operable condition.

If you installed Ghost and skipped making the RECOVERY BOOT DISC, do it now.

Without it, I would have been carrying my pc to the shop Monday .
