Question Plexstor burner doesn't show up today

Any ideas?

I have a plexstor px-w4824a that has been working for over a year. Today it does not show up in the reading drive box while trying to import a track. If I open windows media player it will play the cd just fine. This just started today we burned a cdg last week just fine.

Re: Plexstor burner doesn't show up today

Have you tried opening the pull down menu next to READING DRIVE, on the IMPORT page and re-selecting the drive. Hopefully it's that simple.

If not.., and your os has the feature, try doing a restore to a time you know the burner was working. Something may have changed a setting.

If that doesn't get it, try going to the Plextor website and downloading latest drivers for that model burner.

Hope this helps,

George

Did you load any new software such as Musicmatch or Winamp? It sounds like the ASPI driver got corrupted or removed. Try reinstall the program and it should then be fixed. Or you can download the ASPI driver in Solution #1 from this FAQ.
