First Impressions of Hoster 3.000

Hi,
congratulations on some fine upgrades in Hoster 3.Well worth the money.
I personally will not need the ability to import CD+G.I´m extremely happy to import my cds in KMA format. My only misgivings about this is that it opens up hoster now to all of those people out there that download there Karaoke files over the internet without paying.
I had hoped that the ability to import video files (VCD) would have had a far higher priority than CD+G.I myself await this update eagerly as do some of my friends who i convinced to buy Hoster.
So keep up the good work and have yourselves a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.Take a break, you´ve deserved it.

Colin :-)

Re: First Impressions of Hoster 3.000

just to let you know that did not stop those people at all
all they did was burn the mp3+g back to cdg and then import them in to hoster as kma
and most will do that any way because the kma header is far better then the mp3 idtag which does not contain a bookid #

this free music will not stop untill the people who own the lables who make the karaoke songs clean up there act

but yes 3.0 is a very nice program
hope you enjoy it!!!

Well, there are 3 competitors who I'm VERY SURE are unhappy we now support "their" format. Yes, I have fought against it for years. However, when that policy clearly pointed to our loosing market share SIMPLY because we didn't support MP3+G, it was a clear decision.

Do your show professionally and you should continue at your venues, even if there are "cheaper" KJ's trying to take it from you. We have heard many times that when a venue owner changes to a cheaper KJ, shortly they call the Professional Host back in 'cause business has dropped off.

Try to make your singers "follow you". So if you leave a venue, they will come with you. Then, you really have job security. Make your singers YOUR customers. Do whatever you can to make them sound great, sing well, and build their ego... that's what Karaoke is all about... feeling good for a night in a crazy world... and it's getting crazier every day!!!

MTU is correct. I have been using Hoster since it came out. Is Hoster the reason I am having a successful side line doing karaoke? No,...but Hoster has made it possible for me to BE a better KJ. Hoster will never make the "cheap" KJ's better. Hoster is and always will be only a tool. It takes a crafstman to know how to use it. Keep up the good work MTU! Great job with 3.0!

I am wondering if MP3+G such as CAVS MCG files can be played in this new version?

Re: First Impressions of Hoster 3.000

I too have been trying to get the VCD issue addressed, and I just can't seem to post anything anywhere that will generate a response. I have all my videos loaded to my computer as .mpg files (I have VCDs, laser disks and DVDs, so am looking for video capability in general) and would REALLY like to be able to play them through Hoster rather than through WMP. I'm REALLY hoping that they will enable similar functionality to what they've done for .wma files - PLEASE??? Regardless, it would really be nice to know what's planned regarding videos and when we could expect to see something...
