my AMD Athlon homebuilt has a dvd-rom drive that will READ(and rip) CDG disks, (using a beta (but Free) cdg conversion utility)

It isn't so much the Hardware that presents the problem....its the FIRMWARE and ASPI layer.

Plextor drives simply are the most CDG friendly
