Angry Re: Help!!!!! Hoster install says email address in wrong!!

It is now after 6pm (Local time), and I had a private party to do this evening starting at 8pm. After posting this email, I will have to call them and inform them that I will not be able to do the show tonight because MTU did not respond to my plea for help in a timely fashon.

This will cost me $200.00 plus my reputation as a dependable host.
I can ill afford either.

So where is that wonderful support that so many others have spoken about in the past? It sure didn't happen for me when I needed it the most.

Looks like I get to take the night off weather I like it or not. My next show is on Wednesday. Is there any chance that we could get this fixed by then? Or, are you going to force me to go out and buy a manual CDG player as a backup for your lack of support?

Sorry, I'm just fit to be tied right now.

Re: Help!!!!! Hoster install says email address in wrong!!

I am sorry you lost the job and income. I realize you were frustrated, but to insult us is not acceptable, and not the way to get our attention.

Here's how you and anyone else can avoid this problem in the future...

Read your download installation instruction email.

It contains EVERYTHING you ever need to install pefectly each time. It contains the EXACT Registration Email that you must enter. This must be used whether you typed it in wrong at our web site when you ordered, or you changed emails since you ordered, or whatever. THAT email must always be entered for that Hoster copy, and it is printed exactly as it must be entered on your MTU download instruction email.

I am sorry you didn't get help as fast as you expected. However, we don't guarrantee 3 hour response time, and it is unreasonable to expect such.

In the future when you have a critical problem, try calling MTU. You MAY get through to someone who can help. However, phone support is not always available.

Also, send an email or 2 or 3 or 4 or 5 until you get through that you needed IMMEDIATE attention to a problem.

FYI: We receive between 20,000 to 80,000 emails a DAY at our web site, 99+% from spammers and viruses, and it is possible a valid email from you or other customers gets trashed by the various layers of Anti-Spam programs we are forced to run just to stay in business.

We do our best to solve a problem once we are aware of it. We DO NOT camp out in the Forums. We service them 2-4 times a day, and sometimes at night. If you had purchased from a competitor, they have no support at all!

We are working on a new store that will show your Registration Email and Registration Code for each MTU product you buy. You will be able to access this at our web site, instead of trying to find the email you were sent... and told to keep in a safe place. We can't do any better than that....

It would not hurt to invest in a back-up system of some sort. Hard drives have been known to crash.

Re: Help!!!!! Hoster install says email address in wrong!!

Here is the relivant portion of my download email that I received from you when I installed 21UpG......

-----------------------------------
Product Store Code and Title:
Hoster21UpG - Hoster 2.127 Software Upgrade from 2.014 or prior

Registration Email:
dayton@gsiwave.com

Registration Code:
(Not Displayed)

Your Personal Download Link:
http://www.mtu.com/download.php?sc=mtu&id=(Not displayed)
------------------------------

The alltel.net email address is over a year old. The "gsiwave" address was the one that was sitting in the field the first time I tried to register yesterday. (It too was old but that's what was in there). I did'nt even look at it until the registration failed the first time. I then tried my current address to no avail.

I don't have the slightest idea how the email addresses got hosed up but I DID read the instructions and DID follow them just as I had on prior upgrades. And I forgot about that alltel address a long time ago.

If I am at fault in any way here, then I don't see what it was that I did wrong.

I am, however, glad to hear that you have something in the works that might help, should something like this happen again in the future.

I'll have to look again for the precicse time but, I posted my plea for help some two hours or so before quitting time. (I assume you guys knock off about 5ish). You're help instructions say, and stress, that I should post in the forum. I did that. So far as I know, I did everything just as I was supposed to do. But I would have thought that SOMBODY would have at least checked for cries for help in the forums before leaving the shop for the day.

I do appologize for the tone of my later comments but I am not aware of ANYTHING that I did wrong and that I was about to loose that $200.00 gig. (Which I DID loose). It's bound to get a fellow a but upset.

Oh yes, I put that old alltel address in and the upgrade is now installed. Thanks.

Re: Help!!!!! Hoster install says email address in wrong!!

Bill,
I just checked this out, and that is correct for all of your Suite4 programs, but your Hoster program is the Email that I posted above. If you go back to that programs original Email, for Hoster 2.127 version, this is the email that it is using.
