Re: 2.219 Importing with no AUDIO

S.Parks,
When these 2 discs are imported, what are the file sizes? Are they what they should be or are they smaller than normal?

Re: 2.219 Importing with no AUDIO

The files are much smaller than they should be. For instance, at a ratio of 160k on one computer the file is 1142KB and on the other it is 5308KB so for some reason it is leaving the audio behind in the import.

Re: 2.219 Importing with no AUDIO

I noticed this on a computer here also once. When it happened Media Player had opened and was ripping the files into the computer as .wma, while Hoster was trying to import and this occurred.

Go and delete all of these smaller files off of your computer. Once you have done this, then Open My computer, Right click on your Plextor CD-R drive. Left click Properties, Left click the AutoPlay Tab. Select "Prompt me each time to chose an action", click Apply. You can also select Take No action, and then it should work.

This is what worked for me, let me know what you find.

Re: 2.219 Importing with no AUDIO

I tried both ways to "take no action" and "Prompt me each time" . The funny thing is, it wouldn't prompt me, and no matter how I set it, windows media player would see the disc and begin to rip it when I istalled a disc into the computer. I'm sure this is at the heart of the matter like you say, but these changes did not effect Hoster. The files still import without the audio. How do I tell windows media to stop this mess? I never changes any of my default setting, and the two programs used to play nice with each other. Any thoughts?

Re: 2.219 Importing with no AUDIO

Try this: (I'm using WMP 10.0)
Open Windows Media Player
Click on Tools at the top left
Click on OPTIONS at the Bottom of the TOOLS Menu
Click the RIP MUSIC Tab in the OPTIONS MENU
UNCHECK "Rip CD When Inserted"
Click APPLY
Click OK

Hope this helps,

Norm

Re: 2.219 Importing with no AUDIO

Thanks for the Suggestion Norm, but this did not correct the problem. This box is unchecked, but Windows media instist on starting to rip any CD as soon as it's inserted into the player. Any other thoughts?
