Which laptops will Microstudio work with?

I'm looking for a used laptop. Used because that's what my finances dictate. Will Microstudio work with HP, Dell, Gateway or Toshiba? Those seem to be my choices.

The link below will take you to the MTU page which gives the requirements to run Microstudio. I don't think any of the brands you mentioned
would present any particular problem.

If you're just looking for portability, fine, but if you're thinking of running a show, then do yourself a favor and get Hoster.

You can check out the computer requirements for Hoster at the Karaoke products info page. Buy your laptop accordingly.

Any laptop that meets the minimum requirements would work suffice with Microstudio. However, you would need an external USB burner in order to use microstudio with the laptops. As they do not come with karaoke CD+G compatible burners for laptops But we can help you with that too! Just check out our burners page: http://www.mtu.com/basics/karaokecdr.htm

I'm a little confused on that guys. I have a Prostar laptop Model 888-E that I purchased from MTU. It originally came with an internal DVD/CD-ROM drive that did not read CDG's. I also purchased at that time an external USB Plexwriter 40/12/40U. Later on however I purchased FROM MTU an INTERNAL Plexwriter Model Plextor CD-R PX-S88T. This is internal and it DOES read and write CDG's.

Just my two cents.

I think they are saying that laptops in general don't come with cdg compatible drives in them.

papatubby is looking to buy a used laptop and will have a hard if not impossible time finding one with a cd-burner that will read & write cdg's.

The older plextor slimlines that we had sold to you are not in production or distribution any longer. So that is the reason we do not offer them for our laptop models.
