New Sound Choice Multisession Discs

Hi,

I know there was a previous thread on this protection a couple months back. I was wondering if someone out there has any new developments or updates on how to work with this new multisession. I have SC 8722 "Hits of Rod Stewart" and I was able to to rip only some of the tracks from the cd to the .bin format but other tracks I could not. The tracks that failed gave me an apsi error with no other details. I could not find a pattern as to why some tracks worked while others did not. Of the 15 tracks I was able to convert about half of them using a program called "Audiograbber V1.83" It took a very long time to copy the tracks and the Plextor drive was really working at it. In some cases it took up to 2 minutes before the progress meter started moving on the track copy. I could not get it to work (copy or play from disk)at all using Microstudio 2.609. However, once the tracks were converted to .bin I just renamed to .cdg and played in Microstudio 2.609. All converted songs played perfectly.

I hope others out there have something to offer here (other techniques or program solutions) as I would really like to get all of the tracks ripped and brought into Hoster.

Thanks,
T

Unhappy Re: New Sound Choice Multisession Discs

The Number You Have Listed Is One Of The Media Clog Protected Discs And Is Almost Impossible To Copy. The Numbers 8701 Thru About 8750 Are Protected By Media Clog And Also Any Other Number That Was Made In This Time Frame Will Also Be Media Clog Protected.

Re: New Sound Choice Multisession Discs

this is not true
you need to go back in the forum and look for post on how to copy these
disc
i have all the sound choice in hoster
the disc can be broken down and put in hoster
you need a diif type of program then mtu offers
and a plextor drive

i will not post in mtu forum the name of this program you will need to ask mtu the name of it if they want to tell
it is not my forum to put a nother companys name in here
if mtu wants you to know let them post the name of the program i am talking about

Re: New Sound Choice Multisession Discs

Hi,

Just to let you know mikedombroski, I indeed have looked around this forum for a solution to this problem and there are no solutions that I could find. I would not have started a new thread or posted for that matter without first looking for a previously posted resolution in these forums. Keep in mind that this is not the multisession problem that has existed for a very long time (hence the name 'New' in the title of this thread) and has so many other posts in this forum. It is a new multisession problem that adds protection to each track not the problem where a trach 16 is added and people have problems copying the 15th track. The only post I could find that MTU posted was that to their knowledge there currently was no way to copy these types of CDs.

Thanks,
T

Fairway1:

Does the Disc in question say MediaCloQ near the Bottom Right of the Disc (assuming you will hold the disc so that you can READ the label)?

Re: New Sound Choice Multisession Discs

OK,

Call Sound Choice and ask to get a FREE replacement of that Disc Number.

Be sure to ask if it is available in the NON-MediaCloQ version, which I know it is because I returned mine, about a year ago, and got replacements for, not only, that one but, about, 9 other MediaCloQed Discs. You will have to pay for shipping and handling, about 5.95 per disc.

Also, when you return your disc to Sound Choice, be sure to put a letter inside the box that states exactly why you are returning it and what you want as a replacement.

I have heard stories where people have returned a MediaCloqed disc to Sound Choice only to have a MediaCloQed disc sent back to them as a Sound Choice replacement.

I didn't have this trouble, though. Be sure and be nice to the Customer Care Representative at Sound Choice. They are you first line of hope in a successful exchange.
