Re: Upgrading to new version

This is an additonal comment to the above, I cannot build a song list file. I downloaded a new installer and ran with everything turned off except windows. I still have the same outcome. No data in database, no song list, can't import new songs and no second window on desk top. other than that, everything is just perfect. There must be some trick to making this work right, it did until I upgraded to 2212 I tried to go back, but now even the old version won't work right. Currently, My KHPro, Microstudio, Vogone & Keyrite all won't work. All of this because I tried to upgrade Hoster. In order to make the Microstudio programs work, I am told I must reinstall them because my codes don't match. I don't want to do this again until I get this Hoster Problem resolved. Does anybody know what the --- is going on?

Re: Upgrading to new version

Additional comments to above. I don't have a bucket.mdb file or a song.mdb database file. I do have a file named bucket and it is a microsoft access database with a little yellow key across the file icon. I have tried reinstalling, modifying, and repairing. All to no avail. Hope someone has a clue to this problem.

Thanks

Re: Upgrading to new version

The only thing that I can think of is that you are installing the program during the install into a folder such as C:\. This would then make it so that it can't find the Databases folder, because its not where it should be.

Go back and Remove the entire Hoster Program. Reboot the computer. Once the computer is back up and running, reinstall Hoster. This time take the Default selection for the Installation folder. This is what it should be C:\Program Files\Micro Technology Unlimited\Hoster.

Once this is done, then reboot the computer at the end of the Install, to be on the safe side. Then try Hoster again.

You can manually go to My computer and navigate to your C:\ drive, Program Files folder, Micro Technology Unlimited folder, Hoster folder, Databases folder to make sure that the bucket.mdb file is in this folder. If not, then you have some type of User Settings that are keeping your system from allowing you to correctly install our software. If this is the case then you need to make sure that you have high enough permissions on your User name of this computer to install software, such as Administrator rights.

Re: Upgrading to new version

I'll do it again but the bucket file is in the Hoster folder which is in the program folder on the C drive. I do have the bucket file there but it does not have the dmb ending attached to the file name, just bucket. I has a yellow key across the file icon if that tells you something. The same for the hprint file.

Re: Upgrading to new version

Well, I took matters into my own hands and reinstalled XP Home. It seems my problems are resolved but still have a few things not right. I cannot make the second window enlarge. When a song stops playing, the second window shows up blank. When a song starts playing, it dissappears. The second monitor shows up ok, just the second window on computer screen.
