Hoster 2.212

I AM LOST!!! I JUST BOUGHT HOSTER 2.209, HAVE HAD IT FOR ABOUT A MONTH, WAS LEARNING HOW TO USE IT WHEN 2.212 CAME OUT AND DECIDED TO UPGRADE. AND NOW IT IS DOWNLOADED AND REGISTERED AND LOADED ON MY COMPUTER
PRETTY GOOD FOR ME. NOW FOR MY PROBLEM. I NEVER RECIEVED AN E-MAIL TELLING ME THAT IT WAS REGISTERED OR HOW TO USE IT. I GO TO HELP AND PRESS ON MANUAL AND NOTHING HAPPENS, I GO TO MY C DRIVE AND THERE IS NO MANUAL. I GO BACK TO HOSTER AND THERE IS NOTHING IN THE BRAND FIELDS. NOTHING IN THE DISC ID FIELD AND IN THE BOOK ID FIELD SAYS THE NUMBER 10. WHAT DO I DO??? HELP!!!

LNevada,

Sorry for posting the wrong Hoster manual link. I assumed it was for version 2.212.
Have you gotten Hoster up and running? If you haven't, don't give up on this forum. There is a lot of brain power here willing to help you solve your problem.

If your still having a problem, post your problem in detail. Someone on the forum will have a solution for you. I hate to hear of anyone having to handle CDG's for a karaoke show, yuck .

LNevada,

Assuming Hoster opens, (and is responsive to use), and you have already IMPORTED your songs...(The brand box will only show brands of discs you have already imported)

1. Open Hoster
2. Under the 'Tools' menu, select 'Build songs database'
3. When the window opens, verify that the folder(s) where you have saved your .kma files is listed in the first textbox.
4. Check the location where your database is saved in the black box towards the bottom
5. Click 'Build Songs Database'
(I'm going from memory after this so someone correct me if I'm wrong)
6. It should say Database backup successful, click OK.
7. It then says Database updated, click OK, and WAIT.
8. The database actually gets built after clicking the OK.
9. After the hourglass(mouse pointer) goes away, the task is complete. This may take a few minutes...

Close Hoster, and reopen...all your songs should now be available.

Also check this post.

Hope it helps...
Flip

I'M BACK, I HAVE HAD A VERY BUSY WEEK-END, BUT HAD A GOOD TIME WITH ALL MY GREAT KARAOKE STARS, BUT I WAS A LITTLE BIT DOWN BECAUSE I WAS UNABLE TO GET ANYTHING GOING WITH 2.212. I THANK ALL FOR YOUR HELP BUT SORRY TO SAY NONE OF THEM WORKED. SO WHAT I HAVE DONE NOW
IS I DELETED IT AND NOW I HAVE LOADED IT AGAIN AND AM TRYING TO REGISTER IT, MY E-MAIL ADDRESS CAME UP RIGHT. MY REGISTRATION FOR MY HOSTER 2.209 CAME UP RIGHT, BUT CAN SOMEBODY TELL ME WHAT IS "THE MTU PRODUCT DOWNLOAD INSTRUCTIONS E-MAIL FOR THE HOSTER xxUpG PART NUMBER. LOCATE THE REGISTRATION CODE TOWARDS THE BOTTOM AND ENTER BELOW". I KNOW THAT ANYBODY THAT HAS DOWNLOADED THIS UP GRADE HAS BEEN WHERE I AM AT RIGHT NOW, AND SOMEONE IS GOING TO TELL ME WHERE I CAN LOCATE IT AND I'M GOING TO FEEL LIKE A REAL DUMMY, 'CAUSE I SKIPPED OVER IT THE FIRST TIME. SO I AM READY TO TAKE MY LICK'S, COME ON SOMEBODY TELL ME WHERE IT IS AT PLEASE.

LNevada,
You have an Original Code that was for 2.209, so all you need is to type in that number, you don't need to type anything in for your Upgrade number. It is not needed on yours, since it is in the same series as you purchased originally.

Thumbs up

Sorry about (CAP LOCK) but I have arthritus(sp) bad in one hand and it is easier for me, to not have to shift.

After spending a couple hours on the phone with NREEL, we concluded that the master data file was not being read. Either the file was'nt there or the "jet engine" was'nt. The master data file was working on 2.209 and vanished after installing 2.212 upgrade. We reloaded 2.209 and still no master data file. After I got off the phone with Nreel, I completely removed all Hoster software and then installed 2.209 off of my cd and it ran fine, data file and all. I downloaded the upgrade to2.212 and during the the install part of wizard something happened I lost everything. Tried to re-download the 2.212 upgrade and the system won't let me.
So I reinstalled 2.209 and started building my data base.

So if MTU would be kind enough to release the block on my 2.212 upgrade I'll try re-installing it and get things done.

I want to thank everyone for their support and I hope to be able to return the favor ten fold.
P.S. This her "other half" doing the typing.
