Can't Install mstudio2604setup.exe

I purchased MicroStudio on 6/8.
Received install instructions via email.
Downloaded mstudio2604setup.exe.
Killed all apps except Windows Explorer.
Double-clicked mstudio2604setup.exe.
Received the InstallShield error message shown in the attached file.
Please advise.

[Well, I guess your forum doesn't accept *.rtf files. On to email...]

ADMIN NOTE: No, in today's virus infected world, we only allow those file formats that can't have embedded viruses.

You should post the text error message here so others can help you, not just MTUSUPPORT. Also, then your question and answers to it can be seen by others to help them 24/7/365.

Jon, I think he meant all other running programs were shut down.

Try copy and paste

DavidK,

Perhaps you could copy and paste whichever error message you received. Members of the Forum do not have access to emails sent to MTU. It diminishes the help you can receive from fellow members.

I’ve never heard of MicroStudio killing all other applications on a computer.

Did I read your post correctly?

Sincerely,

Jon

Hello all,

1. Here is a portion of error I received when trying to install. The rest scrolled off the screen.

An error (-5009 : 0x2) has occurred while running the setup.
Please make sure you have finished any previous setup and closed other applications.
If the error still occurs, please contact your vendor: Micro Technology Unlimited
(http://forum.mtu.com/index.php).

Error Code: -5009 : 0x2
Error Information:
>Ctor\IScriptWrapper.cpp (27)
>Ctor\ObjectWrapper.cpp (163)
>Ctor\ObjectWrapper.cpp (384)
>Kernel\Component.cpp (1161)
>Kernel\CABFile.cpp (384)

2. MTUSUPPORT is correct. I only had Windows Explorer running at the time.

3. I hate typing so that's why I *tried* to include a screen dump for MTU support to view. Is there any way to post images to this forum? Screen prints are a whole lot easier retyping the information.
MTUSUPPORT Added: You can attach .zip, .txt, .jpg, and .bmp file extensions I know.

You have a corrupted download file. Re-download the mstudio2604.exe file from mtu and try installing again. It should work.

More info please.

DavidK,

Did you try to redownload the software as bjswaim suggested? If so, what happened?

What does "conur" means?

Sincerely,

Jon

Never hear of "conur". Care to explain what it is?

If you can click your download link and it doesn't say there are no more downloads, then it is still good. It is valid for 80 downloads. The only way you can run out is if you have a download accelerator program running when you try to download. That will eat up a whole bunch in one try... and fail to deliver anything!

Thanks everyone for your help and advice.

I redownloaded the Microstudio file and this time its 12% larger. Apparently I inadvertently had SurXccelerator running in the background and it must have mangled the download file. The new file installed perfectly and it works fine.

BTW, “conur” from my last post was a misspelling of “concur”

Thanks,
DavidK
