The Settings tab should show two monitors.

To check Dxdiag, click Start, Run, and type in DXDIAG,and click OK.

Somewhere near the bottom of the first page that pops up it tells you which version of Dxdiag you have installed. If it is less than 9.0b, go to Http://www.microsoft.com and download the latest version for your operating system.
