Question Using Windows Media Player With Hoster

I thought I had read in here at one time about someone using windows media player to play songs in between Karaoke at their show. I thought it was worthy looking into. Windows media player is great, but when I try to add a song from a disc in Hoster, it says insert the disc, I do, and then it won't start. Can anyone tell me how to configure windows media player so that it and hoster can co-exist?

a friend of mine who owns a Karaoke co. utilizes 2 soundcards
(usually the built in(on the Mobo) and an additional soundcard.
one is dedicated solely to Hoster, the other to non karaoke related sound files.
From what I've observed it works rather dependably that way.

i have never had a problem using one sound card with both programs open.

i do have 2 sound cards, one internal and one USB. i only use the USB for my headphones in pcdjfx for cueing.

For some reason, mine doesn't recognise the Plextor CDG at all now. It doesn't seem to care if windows media player is open or not. Any thoughts? Should I try to reinstall Hoster. I tried the whole detect drives thing, it didn't work.

Oh yeah, and to clarify one point, it's not a sound card thing. I using an external Soundbalster Audigy usb card, and Hoster and WMP will run simultaniously, even both play songs at the same time, its just the recognition of the Plextor CDR/RW that isn't working. I know now it's a problem in my Hoster install, because it does not work without WMP running either. I'll try the repair install.

Talking Probem solved

thanks support, the re-install in maintenance mode solved the problem. The program now recognizes the plextor drive, and co-exist with Windows Media Player nicely, with no audio drop outs as you move back and forth between the two programs.
