I think what's happened on this thread goes a bit beyond twelve of one or a dozen of another.

A manufacturer of a product (MTU) came forward and pointedly said what they felt worked best with their product. That got immediately challanged, which seems to happen quite frequently as of late.

If an auto manufacturer tells us to use high octane unleaded gasoline in their product we take it to mean that the manufacturer knows his auto will run at optimum performance on high octane unleaded gasoline.

That should be no different here. Bryan's and ADMIN's recommendations can be taken to mean their experience has proven to them what perifials work best with their products, and to challange those recommendations does nothing except get the poor person seeking help even more confused.

If MTU's recommendation gets taken, and does not work out, then they are on the line to seek a solution.

If a third party causes the person seeking help to not follow the recommendations of MTU, then MTU really has no reason to get unduly concerned any further, do they? They would be in their rights to say " we gave you a solution and you chose to do other wise...good luck".

Do we as bystanders have the right to cause that to happen?

George
