Plextor PX-54TA

Is the Plextor PX-54TA drive supported as a reading device in the newer Microstudio? I am currently running 2.400 and it doesn't work with this, but if it works with a newer version I will probably upgrade.

Details about it are here: http://www.plextor.be/English/products/px54tap.html

Well, I just upgraded to 2.517 and my new Plextor drive is still NOT supported as being able to read Karaoke. So for anyone else with this drive, do not upgrade yet.

Will this drive be supported in the next version and will it be a free upgrade?

No, I don't think this drive is supported. This drive has not yet been released in the US. This is a new CD-Rom drive and I am not sure it if will be supported soon or not.

All of the Plextor CD-R drives are supported currently.

Nige,
What drive do you have that you state is not supported? All the currently available Plextor drives, that work for Karaoke are supported in this new version.

I have the new PX-54TA that I recently purchased. I live in the UK and it has been out here for a few months now. Plextor list both on the box and their website that it does support CD+G, I have not yet tested this however as both Microstudio and CDRWIN latest versions do not see this drive as supporting CD+G (in fact CDRWIN only sees it as a 16x drive).

New drive support

We must add new drivers into Microstudio and Hoster to support a new drive. Until we do, the drive will not be supported. These drivers are not yet available to us. As soon as they are, we will release an upgrade.

It has been a month and a half, is there any update on this or are the drivers still unavailable?

We only receive the drivers quarterly. We should have new drivers in June, but I am not sure if this drive will be supported or not. There is no way to tell until we get the drivers.
