Question Nothing will work...........

I made a song with KHP. At first when I played my song in KHP it sounded perfect, the sweep was great and the music was great. Then after I wrote it and played it, It sounded like the chipmunks. So I went through the forum and found that problem. It was the settings on winamp weren't at 44 ???? So now the music sounds great. However.............. now the sweep is 1 line behind the music and I have tried everything that I could see on here relating to this but still nothing is working. Can someone please help. I have a new computer I am using xp and I also have KHP 3.01

Thanks
JOanne

Some suggestions...

I don't normally do support and I'm a bit cold on KHP3.100 so I may be wrong... but here goes:

1. Look for a Sweep Offset control. I know it is in KHP4.103 and maybe 3.100. It allows setting a +/- value to have the entire sweep appear earlier or later.

2. If your new computer has an Nvidia graphics card, read about its problems and what to do in our Forums. Search on nvidia.

3. Read the upgrades from 3.100 to 4.103 at:
this page.

4. Upgrade to KHP 4.103.

5. What are you playing your created songs with? You didn't mention a CDG Karaoke Player machine, or Microstudio. Also, are you burning it to a CDG disc or playing the file? This info will help us diagnose the problem.

I hope these suggestions help you.

Karaoke CDG International standard

The CDG Spec only allows 16 colors on any CDG page at a time. KHP only allows 10 in a graphic image because we reserve settings for the Background, border, singer 1 text, singer 1 sweep colors.

You must use a graphic program set to only use 4 bit color, and make sure you don't use more than 10 in your image.

That is the limitation of CDG. I sure wish we could overcome it, but it is required to be able to play on industry standard CDG players like you would find at a professional Karaoke show.

What Player?

snowflake, I'd really like to know what CDG Karaoke player you are viewing these with. Also, are you making a CDG disc with the songs, or playing the file?

Thanks!

Cool I like your attitude!

We all started that way once upon a time. Just look for how to control colors in the program you are using, or only add 10 or fewer to your image. If there is any "dithering" option, you may want to disable it as it can add hundreds of color shades to what you select.

Hummm...

I'd say winamp or sax and dottys have not followed the CDG International standard and are changing the colors. Thanks for letting us know.

Question Please Help................

I imported a picture on the title page of khp and it was fine when I edited it in paint but............... in khp all of the colors are darker and I read that you can only use 10 colors but where do I change it. Or maybe you can recommend a program that is fairy simple to use. All of this puter stuff gets pretty confusing to me. If I can do it in paint would someone pleade tell me how?

Thanks

Smile I think I finally got it......................

Well everyone, with the thanks to all of you, especially support, I have managed to get everything looking and sounding perfect. Now just one more question.... some of my bought cdg's have images during the instrumental breaks..........can this be done with khp 3.01? If not is there another way of doing it?

Thanks again for all of your help

When all else fails...

Joanne, a lot of your questions are answered in the Manual.

To read it:
Click Help menu
Click Read Manual
Read the Manual.

Yes, you can add a graphic image in the top half of the lyrics area. Your selection must remain through the entire lyrics area, not just on one page.

KHP is a "Home" product, and tradeoffs were made to keep it simple. I must say, you seem to be pushing the limits hard. You are really getting into this home production aren't you!

FYI: Our Karaoke Pro workstation allows adding graphics in an Instrumental page, then have it remove and the lyrics take over the whole screen again.

In case you are wondering, I have merged all your 5 threads into this one. I felt it best to keep it all in one as your questions are inter related. Just click the New Post button when you have this Thread open, and it will add it here... easier for overall continuity.
