I have a msi geforce 4 440 w.64meg ram (vnidea) on one computer, and a fx-5600 w/128 mg on the other. they both work about the same. the 440 is about $49, and the 5600 was $175.

![]() I would recommend a geforce card build by MSI over an ATI card because of the unstability of the drivers at ATI.
If you keep your driver up to date with ATI good chance you'll have problems. I just build a new computer using an ATI 7000 series an I had so much problems with the graphic and it was related to the latest driver! I had to install a previous version and it all work fine. MSI is also more generous with the software it offers. I build computers and I can confirm that Geforce is by far more stable than ATI (today). Regards |

I don’t agree! In my opinion, ATI manufactures a terrific line of video cards AND drivers, and so does nVIDIA. Every manufacturer produces unstable drivers and these two companies are no exception. A driver is nothing other than another piece of software and as such could be buggy now and then. It’s been the practice of these companies to release corrected versions as soon as possible. I have been using an ATI 7500 for a long time now without a single problem. I also have a couple of nVIDIAs equally as good. Needing a video card for Karaoke IS NOT like needing a video card for AutoCAD, the graphics requirements are not that critical for karaoke. Any decent graphics card that can handle dual monitors, in my believe, would be good for karaoke! Best regards, Jon |

It is my understanding and correct me if I am wrong.......
That MTU uses ATI Video Cards in their facility and the Software is developed and tested with ATI Video Cards. |

The difference is in which type of ATI cards you buy.
You will see two types advertised: 1-POWERED BY ATI. 2-MADE BY ATI. The "powered" variety are produced by other manufacturers and use some ATI patents. They are cheaper and have been known to generate problems. The "made" by ATI are just that. They generally cost more, and are of excellent quality. Spend the bucks and buy MADE BY ATI. MADE BY ATI was recommended for Hoster by MTU when Hoster was in it's initial testing stages. I also have been using the ATI 7500 since the beginning with no problems. George |

![]() George is correct, Made by ATI is always been a better option BUT it looks like ATI will soon stop making their cards just like geforce did!!
I've been to 3 different retail stores when trying to buy an ATI card about 2 months ago & they all said the same thing. ATI is having difficulties to be competitive with their own cards so it looks like it would be a better option for them to continu the research and sell their chip! To be confirm... regards |
