Microstudio Slow Loading

I just installed Microstudio and it takes about 10 minutes for the
program to load. The task manager shows it is running but there is nothing on the screen. I have Nero 6 also installed and now it's doing the same thing. I am running Win 98 SE on one drive and Win 2000 on another and the problem is the same on both OS's.
I tried unistalling both programs and installing just Microstudio
but it still does the same thing. Once loaded it works fine.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks all,
Bill Dixon

Flaud,
I would say that the problem lies somewhere in the drivers for the Motherboard or in the DMA option as described in the Plextor manual.

This is a guess, but since both programs are doing this I would say that it is some type of hardware or driver problem instead of either of the 2 software programs.

Thanks for replying Bryan. I don't think it's the Plextor or the mainboard as Nero was working before installing Microstudio.
I think there is a software problem.
I've had other burning programs (Direct CD and Cavs Encoder) running on the same machine with Nero and this is the first time I've run into this.
I don't think the programs are removing all files on uninstall.
Maybe I'll try replacing the aspi files and see if that does anything.

Bill
