I also pin the control panel to the start menu as described by Kod.
You can also open the control panel to select Sound, select the icon view in control panel then choose sound, then Sounds tab in that dialog scroll down the list to Exclamation left click then set bottom box to none.

Thanks to both of you for the advice.

Apparently, Windows 10 has been updated since 2016 and the instructions for the Perfomance Changes are outdated.

Once again, it is nice to have folks willing to help folks who need help on this forum.
