Hoster Freezes on new installation

I just purchased an upgrade to Hoster, the newest version. However, I installed it and when it opened to the home screen it just froze. So I uninstalled and installed it again. It did the same thing. I am using Windows 10 on a 64 bit computer. What do I do? My Windows 10 is brand new and updated. Are there some other settings I'm supposed to change to make it work correctly?

Don't Know why it should do that.
Did you have the previous version running on this computer before installing the upgrade ?

Do you see the playlist on the screen and it stays there but won't allow you to do anything ?
"You should see a dialog appear for "Please wait initializing BookID's" Does it get that far ?

Re: Hoster Freezes on new installation

I guess I was supposed to uninstall my older version. I looked for directions on how to upgrade but could find them. I wonder if I need to do any changes to my computer as I notice the word graphics are also lagging behind the music. I moved the sync bar, but hate to have to do this for every song.

Once I uninstalled the old version it worked.
Now, I need to find out how to stop the lagging of graphics.

Thanks Roy Dennis. You are always so helpful!

The first thing I would do is see if there is an updated driver for your graphics card. Most are built in to the mother board but some are not. If you know the make of your card, go to their website and see if a new driver is available. Did you do the Windows upgrade and when you say new, was it done recently. I ask because about last October/November there was a new release for Windows 10 which included many more system drivers.
Normally you only have to do an upgrade for Hoster. You don't have to uninstall the old one. If may help if you provided the version of Hoster you had and I assume you now have the latest version?
Roy is probably sleeping about now since he is in a different time zone and will probably have more to add.

Re: Hoster Freezes on new installation

My older version of Hoster was 5.3. I just had Windows 10 installed 3 days ago. Hoster would not install correctly until I removed the old 5.3 version of Hoster. As for the Graphics card, I don't know if there is an update. I'll have to check on that.

MTU recommends uninstalling Hoster before updating to Windows 10. It may be you are having a problem due to this. Most of the time if you don't uninstall before upgrading to Win 10 it messes up your registration with MTU and it shows as a new computer. Apparently you lucked out there. I would definitely check for the driver update for your graphics or video application. Anyway, good luck and please report back and let us know how you made out.
