I don't think it's your Operating System
KWD123,
I don’t believe that your CyberDrive 40x/16x/48 supports Karaoke CDG. Yours is a generic drive Model CW078D that supports Disc At Once (DAO), Track At Once (TAO) and Session At Once (SAO) recording. The supported disk formats are: CD-DA, CD-ROM, CD-ROM / XA, mixed mode, Video-CD, Photo CD, Enhanced CD, CD Plus, CD-Text. The mere mention of CD-Text support tends to confuse, as at first glance, it appears to be exactly what we are looking for, after all, a Karaoke Disk is nothing more than music and text, right? Yes. However, the technologies that implement each, is somewhat different. Without getting too technical, let me see if my explanation makes sense. CD Text is a recent addition to the CD audio specification allowing disc and track related information to be added to standard audio CDs for playback on suitably equipped CD audio players. It allows storing information about an audio CD and its tracks (such as artist name, album, or song name) directly on the disk. Each character on a CD Text disc is identified by a unique code in a character table. rather than bitmaps, which is essential for Karaoke. Unlike CD-Text, CD+G (Karaoke) encodes text as bitmaps (graphics) in the sub code channels of the disk! Conclusion: You need to purchase CD burner that supports the CD+G standard and not the CD-Text standard That is, of course, if I am correct. ![]() As a closing note, I highly recommend the burners sold by MTU. These burners are fully and individually tested and are guaranteed to work! You can read more about these recorders by clicking the following link http://www.mtu.com/basics/karaokecdr.htm Good luck, Jon |
