Re: 5.31.01 Problems after Microsoft Updates

I am showing 9 new important updates that as yet I have not installed.
I will install them 1 at a time and see if my Hoster works OK after each.
This way if one is causing it I should be able to identify the problem.
I'll post back when done, might not be today though

Well they only appeared yesterday on my computer but Wrahn saw them a week or so ago.

It was Cumulative Security Update for Internet Explorer 11 for Windows 7 for x64-based Systems (KB2977629)

Note the number of it.

My advise do not install this update.

Since installing it my audio is a mess with dropouts and sync issues.
Unfortunately my system restore has stopped working so I can't do that as Wrahn managed so at the moment I'm stuck with it.
I uninstalled the update but it has still left my audio shot.

Am still looking at it trying to find the problem.

Re: 5.31.01 Problems after Microsoft Updates

Well it now seems to be working OK
Just started Hoster playing first thing this morning after writing the above and Hoster is now working fine

Last night I rebooted many times and it was still playing havoc with the audio but after a long rest all is well.

So I don't know what the problem was but I have not got that particular update installed now.

Re: 5.31.01 Problems after Microsoft Updates

OK I found what the problem was in my case.
It was to do with my auto back up system that started backing up as soon as I installed the update.

I have a WD cloud drive and it was set to backup on Mondays at 12pm but for some reason it had got changed to permanent backup so as soon as I installed that first update it started the backup which is what was causing my particular problem so ignore my post for now regarding that particular update.
I will now install the other 8 updates and see how they act.

Re: 5.31.01 Problems after Microsoft Updates

Well I have now installed all 9 of the new updates and Hoster is working OK.
So the update may have had some bearing on my backup system going skew whiff but having been on the WD forum it seems that it is a re occurring problem and don't see an answer to it on their site. I uninstalled that program for now and all is well.

I did notice that after installing some of the updates that on first boot there is a lot of CPU activity but it settles down after a short while.

Re: 5.31.01 Problems after Microsoft Updates

Just discovered a small glitch with the new release....

I "un-checked" the box that asks if I want Hoster to start after installation. After installation was complete, Hoster started anyway.
