Hoster and other program problems
Last night while I was running my karaoke gig, when I opened the search box in 5.11 and minimized the search box it totally dissappeared from the screen even the taskbar. I had to continue to open it everytime I did a search. When I minimized it it would go away again. I also had some singers who sing from Youtube at which time I minimize Hoster completely. Then the entire program disappears from the desktop, including the task bar. If I ctrl-alt-del it, task manager shows that it is running, but I can find it nowhere. I have to either log off or restart to bring it up again. Any suggestions?
I also uninstalled 5.11 from my laptop and when I tried to install 5.05 I got the error msg that it has already been installed on 2 computers. I booted off my backup hdd and removed it there and still got the same message. I finally booted my desktop on the 2nd drive and removed hoster then I was allowed to reinstall it on my Laptop. What goes with this? I have had this problem for many years now? I am also not able to reinstall microstudio or khpro. I just tried to run Songverter and got the message that my serial no does not match their records. I did the upgrade setup on it now it is okay?? Thanks Alan |

The latest release version for download is 5.10 there is no 5.11 to my knowledge except as a beta for testing.
I have experienced what you describe once myself regarding Hoster disappearing but still showing as running in task manager. As it only ever happened to me that one time I took no notice of it. I selected Hoster from the applications tab list and chose "End task" then restarted Hoster. Does this happen to you regular ? Regarding your registration problems. When you say "I booted off my backup hdd " Hoster is designed to run from the C\drive, reading your post it sound like you are installing Hoster on various different drives on the same computer, is this the case ? if so this might be why you keep getting this problem with registration.

Thanks Roy. Once a long time ago Bryan replied to me when I had the same problem and suggested I clone my hdd. I use acronis true image 2012 and back up all my drives. I have four in my pc and 2 in my laptop. Of course you realize that the computer recognizes the hard drive that you boot off as your c drive. For as long as I can remember since uising any MTU product I am able use either drive I wish as a clone is an exact image of the source disc. The product I am using is Hoster 5.10 but when I check the version it shows 5.11. The registration problem seems to only happen when for some reason windows has me reactivate my product, whioch I don't why it does this either. Then when I bring up MTU progs I get the error message my serial no does not match their records. Sometimes songverter will go right back in and sometimes it won't. The other products do the same thing. I get the message that the program is installed on two computers even if I remove the programs.
The problem with Hoster just happened this past Weds while I was running my normal karaoke show. I had to reboot Hoster. As you said windows task manager said it was running as well as the search, but they were no where to be found. I removed 5,10 and reinstalled 5.05 and have not had a problem yet. I don't know how to get the version just before 5.10 I believe it is 5.09 Any other ideas. Thanks Alan PS I ripped 13,000 songs and added them to hoster easily thanks to you. Thanks again Alan |

There is a 5.09 that is the prior version to 5.10.
Mtu is about to release another update shouldn't be too long if your still entitled to it version 5.20, keep a look out for it.

Roy, I forgot to ask why there is a buy songs included within Hoster if you can't automatically have them imported while doing a show? I download songs via Tricerasoft which are Abraxa and SBI and am able to unzip them while singers mozy along and they are in the database. I do this alot as there are many new songs I do not have and this is easier and less expensive then buying new cd all the time. Thanks Again Alan
