The new 2.4 version requires DirectX 8.1 or later. This also requires your video drives to support this. I would try upgrading both DirectX on your system and your video drivers to the latest drivers and then see what happens. You can get the latest DirectX drivers from: http://forum.mtu.com/showthread.php?threadid=772
