Re: sound drop

I haven't got Windows 8 or a gigaport so am not really the best person to comment on setting this up. Gigaport uses asio drivers that Hoster doesn't support to the best of my knowledge so getting a windows 7 would not help, I think you would only be able to use a single pair of outputs from this card.
Are you using multiple inputs on the gigaport ?
If so try to describe how you are connecting it up.
You should be able to set it up as the playlist audio card which would then play the instabuttons and BA but you would have to select the on board computer audio card as the search audio card.
I'm pretty sure if you try using it as a search audio card as well it won't work.
Try this: first of right click on the speaker icon on the taskbar (if it doesn't show there go through Control Panel) Select playback device, if you want your gigaport to be the main playlist audio playback card select it there (but if it shows multiple Choices then choose just one to make it the default devise then press Apply & OK.
Now Start Hoster, from the tools tab select Audio controls, In the playlist audio card window it should now show your defaulted selection as selected, if not select it from the drop down, for the search audio card select your on board computer audio card. So your headphone would have to be plugged into the speaker out of your laptop and the main sounds from the selected pair of the gigaport.

If anyone else is using one of these cards please join in and help.

Re: sound drop

Aidan, just try this little sound card on amazon :
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Dynamode-USB...2.0+sound+card

I have one and it works OK, don't know if it will be upto your standards but at that price you can afford to dispose of it if your not happy with it.
Don't take any notice of the 7.1 channel rubbish it mentions, just use it as a single stereo source as your main playlist card. No software to install just plug it in and go.
Setting it up as the default card in windows playback then open Hoster and it should automatically allocate it as the playlist audio card if not select it as such from the dropdown, then select your on board card as the search audio card.

If you want to use your on board card as the playlist audio card then first make that the default playback device card in windows sound properties.
before opening Hoster/Tools/Audio controls and setting that as playlist audio card and the search audio as the usb.

Re: sound drop

@Aidan
You are able to use your card without the ASIO drivers, that is only for profesional software like traktor. VirtualDJ, Reason, Abelton...

Just unplug your sound card and uninstall all the drivers including the ASIO driver for your Gigaport souncard, reboot your computer, once fully booted plug in your sound card to a usb port and the card drivers will install, if you see an option to install the ASIO drivers, don't install them.

Check your primary sound card in your computers control panel to make sure your gigaport card is the default sound card, then open Hoster, tools and audio control and go to the second box below "Search Audio Card" and click on the down arrow to choose an available channel in the card for playback, I think your headphone channels on that card is 1&2, but check your owners manual to make sure..

Good Luck..
