Did you reinstall the latest R310 Nvidia driver for your video cards when you reinstalled Win XP Pro?

Re: Problems playing video files on extended desktop

I have updated everything, and the power settings when power is plugged in are set to nothing turns off. When I say I leave it I mean just for say 10 mins. It is as if when I select a Mpeg file and Hoster is not picking up the codecs, if I stop it the file and restart it 7 out of ten it will play and show on the second screen. I can drag the screen in windows media player and in Dell media player and they play no problems.
This has all happen since I updated Hoster. If I still had my original CDG files i'm afraid I would to moving to a new software player

Since this is an intermittent problem as described above I would recommend submitting a help ticket.

My only other thought as to the problem would be another application running in the background such as anti virus or malware may be the culprit.

Re: Problems playing video files on extended desktop

I have 2 computers now (that used to work fine) that my mpg2 files (personally ripped from laserdiscs) quit playing on the extended screen. I have had countless suggestions to no avail. My first computer quit playing them around 5.06 upgrade. My 2nd one quit playing them on the 5.08 upgrade.

Re: Problems playing video files on extended desktop

Just tried several things in the FFDshow codecs and got my extended screen working again!
In the CODECS - all the way at the bottom is Raw Video. Right click it to "All Supported". See if that works! It worked for me at least!

Re: Problems playing video files on extended desktop

Thanks Lonman I give it a try, I have no anti virus software installed or malware. One thing I notice with Hoster is when playing a Mpeg 2 i am using 55-60 % cpu power. I have just down loaded a demo version of pcdj karaoke version on this, when i play a Mpeg 2 i am using 18 - 20% cpu power and it works on both screens. I am am convinced it is Hoster causing my troubles, which is a shame because I love the format of it.

I actually made a mistake but it was too late to edit. Don't right click RAW VIDEO, it should just have a little drop down arrow on it's button. Click that then All Supported.
