Re: 2 hrs to showtime & hoster stopped working...

when i reboot and reopen hoster it will play the 1st song.
after that
all the songs in the playlist flash from 'ready' to 'played' without playing.

READY changes to WAIT then CUE then PLAYED but won't actually play

Re: 2 hrs to showtime & hoster stopped working...

i ended up agreeing to the upgrade just in case my not saying "yes" was the reason it stopped working...

it is now running the latest 505.02 released feb 14

it had been running the december release 505.12

today the previous version 505.12 stopped working and the upgrade did not help.

i am very confused.

i'm sorry for my tone... this laptop is due to run a show in less than an hour. :o

Re: 2 hrs to showtime & hoster stopped working...

We do not, and have never auto-disabled any of our programs that are installed and running.

Don't rule out that Vista did an upgrade that has changed the OS for Hoster. We don't test on Vista any longer as Microsoft has move on. If you consider Windows 7, don't UPGRADE over Vista as it has many problems you will struggle with forever. Do a NEW INSTALL only of Win 7.

Try reinstalling 505.02 (or 505.12) again. This time click the check box (in the page with your address) that clears all Hoster Registry Keys. This is the only way "info" can remain from one version to another.
This will remove all your persistent settings, such as dialogs sizes and locations, colors, etc.
It will NOT affect your songs or Songs or Singers Databases.

I have emailed MTUSUPPORT (it is after hours) to see if he can respond. Roy has done all the normal "fixes" with you.

We will refund your upgrade if it was not required.

Smile Re: 2 hrs to showtime & hoster stopped working...

thank you! thank you! thank you!
you have saved my skin!
it works and is on its way to bring joy to the masses ;)

i reinstalled but this time checked the cleared settings box as you suggested. it did the trick. i have opened and closed hoster twice, rebooted twice and it still works. so a million thank you's for that suggestion.

i have never had to check the clear settings box before but i will keep in mind if similar situation occurs in the future.

it is very good to know that there is no auto disable feature. i went with the upgrade because i had a limited amount of time to try everything i could think of.

yes, vista could be the issue. 2 run vista and 3 run win7 (or the other way around) it has never been an issue until today.

as mentioned. i had not made any changes since it ran last night but, when it comes back after the show tonight i will double check if the os has in fact changed and will restore to previous condition if necessary.

i'll also make arrangement to get at least 4 of the systems on the same upgrade schedule in the very near future.

thanks again!

Just an FYI - The first part of the upgrade number (505) is the version number. The second part (.12) is the montht the bucket database was updated. This is the list of songs that Hoster looks in for theinformation when importing new songs. So upgrading every month is not necessary if you are not importing new songs.
