And the button is to correct that issue.
These may have DRM included then, meaning they may not import to be played in Hoster. I have run into that when importing audio files through Windows Media Player.

I have to disagree with your statement. You may think they are legal because they paid for them, however if the site does not have a license to sell them from the original producer then they are not legal. And those sites will note tell you that they have a license, because most are not legal. Some of the producers have downloads available from themselves or through another company that they have sold those rights to.

This goes with what I answered in the first quote.

Now I know I will have to go back and adjust the import settings for some of the files that have odd names, like CBE437-01-01 where the manufacturer has a disk number and a series of that disk number and then the tracks. After I'm done with that, I'm hoping to have 25,736 NEW files imported. If that is so, I will check the database to see how many is there, if it is less, I'll report that and then we've got a different issue.

If there's anything else I should be doing, now is the time to let me know while I have the PC in my possession.

Thanks again.

Re: Hoster 5.02.7 Songs Not Showing up in Search

Is there a way to "BLANKET" correct the DRM? I thought DRM was associated with audio files, especially wma and wav files, but not associated with mp3.

Karaokeversion.com produces their own tracks with their own words on the screen... as far as karaokedownloads.com, I don't know.

So, I come back to these files. Here is what the file says when I click on Properties:

Attributes: Read Only (unchecked) Hidden (unchecked) [Advanced]
Security: This file came from another computer and might be blocked to help protect this computer [Unblock]

There are a LOT of these files and I tried to select a large group of them, however when I click on the properties, the "security" issue doesn't show up, thereby I don't have a way to universally unblock these assuming this is an issue. I will verify this as the software finishes importing tracks. Right now I'm up to about 6000 of the total (it's a slow process!).

But I'd like to be exploring options in the interim. And for the record, the file that I sent to Roy, did not have this security block on it!

It probably put this security thing on it as it came from your computer to me, but having said that it did not stop it importing on my system as I used it without unblocking it.

Probably a bit late now but what I would have done in your case would be to try and put a few of these files in a separate folder without their kmh files, then try importing them from the build data base option, just by adding the containing folder with the zip type highlighted. Then just try the search feature with just those files before commencing with the rest.
Then if there is a problem with any of those then try again with some that you unblocked.

yes, a little late, I'm up to 17,000 now, but if it fails to import the number of files that windows declares, I'll have to start somewhere else...

I don't know if this is important, but I'm up to 22k songs imported (allegedly) and the book ID number is at 1,769,355 and counting... Is this supposed to be that high?

BookIDs can be up to 5 digits for BookIDs and 4 digits for tracks. How many tracks per bookID depends on how many files in a folder. So yes the number can go that high.

Roy none of my files on my Windows 7 laptop show this and they were all KMA files copied from another computer.

Re: Hoster 5.02.7 Songs Not Showing up in Search

Here is my semi-final report.

The first round of importing files is complete. These are all the standard files that are in the following format: XXX-XX - XXXXXX - XXXXXX.zip

The software reports that there are 24,256 NEW FILES

When the software finished importing, however, it stated as follows:
Batch Import Complete Total Files Imported: 16 (WHAT?!)

I have taken the Song.db to my computer and open it up and find the following total files: 23,499

That's missing 757 files.

I have an additional 1,480 files in the following format to import: XXX-XX-X - XXXXXXXX - XXXXXXXX.zip

There is an import error log that contains "3" files ONLY 3.

I do not know what else to do. It isn't just this file or that file type, it is missing files. I would challenge someone else to use Windows Explorer to count how many zip files they have, then open their songs database and see how many are reported and see if this ISN'T just me... but to make it even, it has to be a fresh install of the current version 502.07.

Did you delete the existing Songs.mdb file and the Songs_backup.mdb before you restarted importing? If not then that would be why it only reported importing 16 files.

Check the security for each folder and make sure that you have at least rights to modify the folders and files inside them.

I am sure when you set this computer up for them that you did the Windows 7 required changes. However if you have upgraded this computer with updates from Microsoft try going through that check list again. Sometimes those updates will change those settings. Here is a link:

I agree with Roy, it might be better to figure out a few of the missing DiskIDs and what folders they are in, Copy those files minus the KMH files to a new folder, rename the Songs.mdb and Songs_Backup.mdb files to something else, then try importing just those to see what happens. Then we can see if we can figure out what is wrong that is preventing them from being imported.
