Re: Taking Forever To Get Songs To Play
I also noticed there is only 2.00GB of memory. This is absolute minimum for Vista with 4.00 GB being much better.
Another thing to look at is how big is the hard drive and how much space is free? Should be a minimum of 25% free space. but 50% would be ideal.

Re: Taking Forever To Get Songs To Play
Thank you all. I'll pass the info on to her. I suggested that she increase her ram to 6. I think she's just going to get a new computer. Also tried to reinstall older hoster version and still had issues. I will let you know what changes she has made and if they worked. Thanks again!

Re: Taking Forever To Get Songs To Play
this might have something to do with the windows media player, do you have the latest version, if not see if you can download the new version, if not try this : i'm not sure if this is going to work, but this is the recommendation from Dell Support.. if you're not comfortable with these steps don't do it..
1. click start and type sound 2.click sound 3.in the sound window, click speakers/headphone and the properties 4.in the speakers/ headphone properties window, click the enhancement tab 5. click to check the disable all the enhancements checkbox 6. click apply then ok 7. in the speakers/headphones properties window click apply and then ok..the sound window closes

It is not uncommon for motherboard manufacturers to put memory limitations in the BIOS to prevent you from upgrading past a certain point. You should always check with the manufacturer to see what the limit is. |
