Re: Hoster Show Nightmare - A 3rd video card was used and dialogs moved to it
As I understand your setup, when you disconect your usb adaptor you are still showing screens 1 & 3 in the properties window and not as the default would have been 1 & 2. If this is right here is what I would try. Uninstall the driver or software that came with the usb devise or restore your computer to the time before installing it. Get your computer set so that it shows extended monitor as 2. Now with the extended monitor pluged in and working as 1 & 2 try installing your usb adaptor while the normal extended monitor is activated and monitor 2 is already alocated, perhaps then it will make the usb monitor 3.
Just an idea, don't know if it will work. Roy. |

Re: Hoster Show Nightmare - A 3rd video card was used and dialogs moved to it
I will give this a try and see if this will resolve the alocated monitor #2 issue in this way, if it does then the problem will be solved, hoping for the best..

![]() Hi Roy
Well I removed the drivers then; 1. Rebooted 2. Cleaned the registry. 3. Downloaded drivers from the startech site. 4. Reinstalled drivers. I made sure the extended monitor was active before installing the new drivers, after the install I check the properties dialog and only the two monitors where present before the program rebooted the computer for the changes to take effect. After the reboot I checked again and found the USB monitor defaulted to monitor #2 and extended to monitor #3, so back to the same position I was in before. I also changed the order of the monitor icons to show monitor #3 in second position in properties, but that had no effect either when I played those files in Hoster they still showed the lyrics as before no change at all... Re: Hoster Show Nightmare - A 3rd video card was used and dialogs moved to it
Hmm, I really thought that might work, seems like it takes president over the on-board graphic card.
Have you contacted the manufacturer for any help on this? Roy. |

Re: Hoster Show Nightmare - A 3rd video card was used and dialogs moved to it
Joe, not ready to give up on this yet.
![]() Have you tried having your singers screen coming from the USB card, if so are the graphics still scrambled? If they are not is there any reason why you can't have this as your singers screen and the search screen from your extended video card. I suppose you would have to use the converter from the VGA output on the USB card. and have the search screen straight from the VGA out. Or have I got it completely wrong ![]() Roy. |

I believe I tried that idea, but will check it out again, and yes I spent 2hrs this morning with them and was told that windows takes care of the alocation of the video cards..., he also recommended try speaking with Hoster to see what they can do...

Re: Hoster Show Nightmare - A 3rd video card was used and dialogs moved to it
Well, when I first started Hoster it went to the #3 monitor, then I moved and resized the singers Display to the USB monitor and closed Hoster so it would default to the USB monitor which it did and it worked Perfectly as expected with no issues on Auto for over one hour all songs played normally.
This is what I've been Saying all along Hoster is programed to monitor #2 and since the USB monitor is Display #2 this is why it plays normally. The only problem is that my DJ program and other software won't run on the available 16meg of built in memory the USB video card has, haven't tried my controllers yet, but between all the monitors and projectors on the venues that I usually run, it would not be possible using this setup. Thanks Roy Joe.... |
