Can't Restart A Video Song?

I never had to restart a video song untill last week~end. But apparently you can't?
My singer made a singing error right out of the gate, on one of my Top Hits Monthly Country video disc. She started yelling "overs" "overs". So i clicked the replay button like i do for CDG's..froze everything up tight...oops..i didn't know i wasn't s'pose to do that.
Vista 32 bit, latest hoster issue.

Re: Can't Restart A Video Song?

I've just tried it on my own widows 7 system and can't seem to duplicate your problem. Was it an imported Video or loaded from the video tab ?

I tried it both ways using Stop n Start and Pause & resume & restart. they are all functioning here.

Roy.

Are you using 4.22?
Is the video imported into Hoster or are you temporarily importing it from the Video button on the main screen?

Re: Can't Restart A Video Song?

They are the same video's i've had imported on my hard drive since i began using hoster. I started the video song playing, hit the restart button while it was playing....and it froze up tighter then a drum. Not a big deal really, i will simply remember to click "Stop" then "Play" again. I can't even tell you if this has ever happen to me on any of the other versions i've used. This is the first time i've had to restart a video song??? humm...I play so very few video karaoke songs. Except around christmas, they love the video christmas songs. So..just something that happened is all. Thought i'd pass it along.

Latest hoster download version, vista 32 bit

Ditto here. I can't reproduce this on my XP Pro machine.

You may just need to update your "Video Codecs". What format is your video in? I've been playing Videos for 5 years now & am able to "Restart" them all - MPG & WMV - whether Added to Playlist or through "Search" which have been imported into to the database by "kmh". They all re-start just like any other KMA.
I am also using Vista 32 bit.

I can play my video's, hit pause & resume, no problem, i can hit play then stop, and start again, no problemo, everything is a ok. I hit play, and while the video is playing, click restart..bingo...she freezes. I imported them the way hoster said to do in the manual. Anyway..... they play just dandy from start to finish.. I'll just have to make sure i hit the stop button then the start again, if i encounter another video startover. no biggie for me. Thanks for everyones thoughts on this. Most likely an update or something. I haven't updated this show machine since last october. Gotta put that on my to~do list.

You must update your Video Codecs. Most Updates are needed before installing a new Hoster update, especially 4.2. Importing Videos is new, so if you don't have the newer Video Codec, videos definitely won't work right. (Please see my message above.)

Re: Can't Restart A Video Song?

KLite is the codex pack found at: http://www.free-codecs.com/download/...codec_pack.htm that we recommend. It includes video codex's.

Huh? my show laptop has everything on it to make hoster run correctly. I've gone through several releases of hoster without any issues what soever. Hoster runs better on my laptop, then a few i've seen that have posted problems here. My video's also play perfectly, start to finish. And i have never imported any video songs, and don't plan on it in the near future. With mtu now charging for upgrades every 12 months, looks like i will be using this version for a long long time. 4.22 works as good as the last few versions i've downloaded. So my machine works just dandy..But thanks for your suggestions.

I am very confused You started this Thread saying you "can't restart a Video song" ........ now you say your "videos play perfectly". Our suggestions, to update your Video Codecs, are to help you with this issue.

We are trying to help you the best way we can, based on what you are telling us.

In case you're wondering...... the Video Codecs are "free". Since I use Videos all the time, I feel confident that when you update (now that you have 4.22) your Videos will re-start like you want - one thing less to have to remember. You did say that you hadn't done any updates since last October. I waited a long time too, but it will help.
