Re: Hoster 4.2 and windows 7 disaster - FIXED in V4.22
I'm not certain if there is a W7 reason for this or a 4.22 one or what.
Last night I had everything hooked up and started up the Macbook to run through a few songs. I forgot to turn both the singers monitor and the tv on beforehand. I'm using an un-powered Y splitter to the two monitors and have done so before with no problems. So when I turned on the TV and the monitor, I could only get the secondary display on the TV screen. Eventually I got it back on- by rebooting into MacOS and opening up a Mac-based karaoke package and then setting both the TV and the singers display at 1280x1024 resolution. So I reboot into W7 and, after much cajoling, get both monitors functioning. Now comes the strange stuff. I can drag the lyrics window to the secondary monitor and resize it by dragging the corners and it stays put. If I drag it over and double-click it to fill the screen, the laptop screen goes to solid blue and the secondary screens go solid black. Double click again and it comes back, with Hoster control screen on the laptop and the lyrics window on the secondary screens. Weird. Since that way is functional, I can live with it. But the other weird thing is the "Mini-Me" window that shows the lyrics screen in the Hoster main control window doesn't refresh. It just piles the lyrics screens on top of each other continually throughout the songs- it's pretty much unreadable. So once the weekend of parties is over I'm going to start experimenting with settings, etc again. |

Re: Hoster 4.2 and windows 7 disaster - FIXED in V4.22
Deeter, this is hard to say where the problem is. Is it the Mac o/s or W7 or a combination of both? If you do that again without turning on the monitor try right clicking on a blank area and go to properties, etc. You know how to do that. In other words if you turn on the laptop without having the monitor on before then it turns off the monitor output.
Instead of dragging the secondary to the monitor try double clicking on it on the laptop screen and see if it will jump over to the monitor that way.

Re: Hoster 4.2 and windows 7 disaster - FIXED in V4.22
Yeah, Dale, it's strange.
If the Mac is booted without the monitor attached it won't see the other (split) monitos when plugged in- or it sees just one of them. I had it working flawlessly a month or so ago, and when I was booting up last night I didn't follow the exact "Super Double Naught Spy" procedure correctly and "blooey". I'll try the double click and see if it jumps over to the displays. I can't figure the bleeding on the small inset window lyrics. After the parties I'll keep mucking with it then never stray from the proper initiation sequence again.......... |
