Re: lost files

What picture file are you talking about?
Which version of Hoster?
In other words, we need a lot more details.
Operating system?
Hard drive capacity and free space (since you said it was getting full)?
Are your Hoster files also on the external or are they on the laptop drive?

That is a start and there will probably be more after you answer those.

Re: lost files

when I moved my picture file to my external, it took all my karaoke songs and put them into my external hard drive. It has my songs in it, but, when i try to move them back, they don't go into hoster, they go to media player. When I pull up my hoster on the laptop, there are no files in the drop down for book id. If I try to go to import from hard drive, it turns to white and won't respond

when you tried to import form the hhd you should had a dialog box where its says " select type "..instead of importing from a hhd, why don't you just hi-lite all your kma files from the ext.. hhd. and then copy them to your int. hhd, then rebuilt your song database..when you rebuild your song database make sure to select where your had it copied , in your case c: drive.

Re: lost files

First thing is you cannot import KMA files from the Import HHD. To put them back in the Database You have to Rebuild the database pointing it to the folder those files are in.
I find it very hard to believe that Vista moved/copied all those KMA files from the internal drive to the external without you telling it to either highlighting them all or by moving the entire folder.
I still do not know what picture file you moved. Is this the file you use for your Intermission screen or what? What kind of file is it?
Moving the files back to your internal drive does not put them into WMP. KMA files will play in Media Player but won't show the display anyway. Do you know what folder those KMA files are in? If they are on the internal drive they should be in C:\MTU\KMA Files. They should not be under the Program Files or Documents and Settings area.
You do need to do the items listed at this link to make sure Vista isn't hiding or messing with your files as well as to update your computer to current updates:
