Will 3.316 run with Windows 7 ?

Hi, I have just upgraded? my office PC to windows 7 from XP, and re-loaded Hoster 3.316.
It all loads fine, but when I try to build the database, it goes through the motions, counting through the kma files as usual. However, it then says the it successfully create 0 entries into the library.
I tried to import a cdg track, and the graphics were unreadable.
Do I just need a later version of Hoster to work with Win7?
Thanks in advance
Trevor

Re: Will 3.316 run with Windows 7 ?

One thing you need to do is go to the following link and do everything listed. Then restart the computer before opening Hoster. XP did not require all these steps, but Vista and Windows 7 do require this.

Version 3.316 was Vista compatible but I don't know for sure about Windows 7 since they made a lot of changes (Microsoft). So you may need to upgrade to 4.20.

Yes but that seemed to help especially for 64 bit. Don't know why but several have tried and it doesn't help.

Not all Windows 7 systems have an XP mode, I think it needs Professional edition and from what I have read those that have don't work very well. There are lot of reading about it if you google Windows 7 XP mode.

Re: Will 3.316 run with Windows 7 ?

Windows 7 Professional and up have XP Mode. Home Premium and lower do not. I have Home Premium, and I'm thinking of upgrading to Professional to get the XP Mode because I have a graphics program that won't run on Home Premium even in compatability mode, and that's the program I use for printing various things having to do with my Karaoke business. I have another graphics program that does work with Home Premium, and even though they're from the same manufacturer, Print Artist, I don't like the graphics choices they have. I have a logo for my business that also extends to business cards and my embroidered shirts that I can print with the older program but not with the newer Print Artist.
