One of my files was corrupted
When I initially had this problem (shortly after the 3.317 upgrade) clearing the temp directory corrected it at least for a while. Once I cleared additional space on my C: drive it has not recurred. I did have one file that still would not play and it is one that is used frequently at my gigs so I am sure it was okay. It failed with the identical error message that ThomasN is showing. I ended up having to delete the file in Hoster and reimporting it. I have not idea how it got corrupted but I hope it has nothing to do with the 3.317 release. My system should get a workout this weekend so I will report back if I encounter any more errors.

This go to prove that even Hard Drives are not infallable. If the media in a secter on the Hard Drive is weak then eventually it will fail. If this was occurring with all of your songs or all of one type of file then I would suspect Hoster had a bug, but when you are talking about one file then look to the media for being the cause. You can always run checkdisk to verify that the drive is still functioning ok.

Problem has not occurred again
Since clearing space on my C: drive I have not seen the problem occur again. I used the system extensively Friday night so it had ample opportunity to break but it ran without a problem.

Same here, no problems with the new VISTA system. Hopefully it was just a corrupt file.

KMAs don't play from zip
I had this problem and fixed it by deleting the temporary files. When I selected the same file that caused the initial problem and the problem re-occurred. Other Zip files played before the suspect one but not after. Rather than delete the file I copied the KMA folder to a new location on the same external drive, re-named the origional folder to Hoster old, then re-named the copied folder Hoster and rebuilt the database. The offending file then played perfectly. The reason I tried it this way was that there may be other files with problems along these lines and if it fixed the one I knew about it would likely fix any other file and save me any embarrassment while doing a show.

I have had major problems since uploading 3.317. Deleting the temp files did help initially but on the next night I had 2 Zip files reject with the same problems. I changed auout.zzz to zip as suggested and unzipped it. I renamed the files & reimported them as MP3. It now seems to be fine. I guess my only option from here is just to fix the files as they reject. It's a real pain but at least it can be fixed. |
