Basically MTU is telling me my firewall is blocking holster.exe.

But I feel certain that is not the case. I have turned the firewall completely off, insuring all ports are open, all programs are unsecured, and a vast array of other risks.

It keeps telling me "The Online Database Lookup did not return any information for this disc."

If that is true, then it must be reaching the online database. So far I have not been able to get ANY info from MTU regarding what database they are using (it used to be freedb) and exactly how they access that database. I am really flying blind here.

If I believe that message it means that the server (whoever it is) really doesn't have any karaoke music at all. Would you try a disc we both own in common? I have many Chartbuster, Sound Choice, and Pocket Song Discs. I especially have a great many Pocket Song Broadway discs.

If you access data for a disc and I cannot access data for the same discs, that would at least eliminate a chunk of wrong avenues for troubleshooting.

I just tried Chartbuster 90133 (CB90133) and found it in the online database and it brought in all songs and artist names perfectly...

Re: Search Online Database not working

The only chartbuster I Have are ripped from SCDG so cant help with them. The only Pop hits monthly I have returned results but they were completely wrong.
What I have found is if the disc is not an original, ie a copy it will return a no result screen immediately. Although duplicated copies created in Microstudio seem to work OK with the Sunfly ones that I use.

I just tried it with a few random ordinary CDs (not CD+G) and it worked perfect with those as well so if you have some ordinary audio only cd's see if you still get nothing found result.

Check your private messages, I sent you a message there.

Don't have this one either, but found it in the Local Database (See attached).

Is that the correct listing"

Re: Search Online Database not working

I am getting lots of hits in the local database. My problem is with the onlinbe database. How about Chartbuster CDG2180? this is Volume 3 of Wedding Music.

I am trying all this with ONLY original manufacturer discs.

Re: Search Online Database not working

Smokey,
I know you said that you turned your Norton firewall off. I wonder when you do this if Windows firewall is kicking in. Maybe you can check that.
