I tried doing a rebuild and that is when it tells me there are 1083 fles.

I am confused you have 5,000 KMA files in this folder and Hoster is only seeing 1083? Check some to make sure the rest are not Read Only and or Hidden.
Is this Vista or XP? Did you move these files from another location?

The files are the same place they were before I upgraded to 4.09d. Everything worked fine before that.

I'm not sure if this will work for you but Hoster 4.09d comes with Hoster34.exe which can be found in the C/Program Files/Micro Technology unlimited/Hoster folder.
This is basically the old 3.21 version. See if you can rebuild your songbook from here. Then open 4.09d. You do not have to do an Install for this it will not affect your 4.09d install. Roy.
