Missing songs in database

I upgraded to 4.09d but now most of my songs are missing from the database. I tried rebuilding the database but it would only show 1083 songs. I checked the folder and there are over 5000 songs there. Version 4.09 worked fine. Would you know of a fix for this?

How are you determining the number, from the Rebuild Database function or from the Search?
If from the Database Rebuild did you get a message (or messages) about duplicate BookIDs or Blank fields in the Header?
If from the Search do you have MUX or Duet turned on (Green)? These will only show songs that meet those criteria and will give you a shorter list.

The number was from the rebuild database function. There were no warnings.

So when it finished it said it had processed 1083 of 5000?
Are you sure all of the files are in one folder? (Hoster does not look in sub-folders for database build unless you list them separately.)

Yes all the files are in one folder. I also just noticed there was a message in MergeSongDBLog. It read "DUPLICATE KMA FILES (same discID and track#) DETECTED DURING DB MERGE".

Did you do a Rebuild or Merge?
There should be a Duplicates Log file that will tell you exactly which ones are duplicates.

I tried doing a rebuild and that is when it tells me there are 1083 fles.

I am confused you have 5,000 KMA files in this folder and Hoster is only seeing 1083? Check some to make sure the rest are not Read Only and or Hidden.
Is this Vista or XP?
Did you move these files from another location?

The files are the same place they were before I upgraded to 4.09d. Everything worked fine before that.

I'm not sure if this will work for you but Hoster 4.09d comes with Hoster34.exe which can be found in the C/Program Files/Micro Technology unlimited/Hoster folder.
This is basically the old 3.21 version. See if you can rebuild your songbook from here. Then open 4.09d. You do not have to do an Install for this it will not affect your 4.09d install.

Roy.

Ok. Is this Vista or XP??
Try deleting the Songs.mdb and the Songs_Backup.mdb file then rebuild again.
