Back to Bing, Deep in the Heart of Texas from Legends, this song has a long intro and a long instrumental break.During the intro or the instrumental break with Full screen there are no drop outs it is only when the song attempts to load the new line of lyrics.

I have tried several different songs and none can play straight through with the screen enlarged. But as I stated the drop out occurs with the loading of each lyrics screen to sweep.

Hope I described this well enough and thanks for the input.

Hey Chuck,
Have you tried Dale's suggestion? Manually resize the show display (without a song playing) to a size that's big enough to read but small enough to reduce the load on the video side of things. If this does not help, use 3.40 or unistall 4.04 and go back to the latest version of Hoster you have that works. 3.40 should work fine.

Be sure your video card driver is updated and you have all windows custom updates.

I hope this helps.

Jim

Hey Jim,

Well first of all 4.03 was a dream come true when the old player was introduced my problems went away. Now 4.04 presented a new problem right out uf the gate. I have been upgrading right along and one of the first solutions a few versions ago was in fact updating my drivers. It was not easy to get them from Acer but I finally broke down and got a program that made all my drivers available to me.

Sorry so long winded but the short answer is yes I have all updates and updated drivers for video, audio you name it.

I can use about one quarter of my screen but that realy doesn't make alot of sense to me. Every code change seems to have a new problem.
I like to go full screen and have the singers display active with 2 lines so I can see the title of the next song in my progam and introduce it.Also very helpful when my wife is on the job so she can see what her next song is etc.

Thanks again for the input

Chuck

Chuck,
I play guitar and used Hoster 4.04 to run my tracks (karaoke) this past Friday and Satuday night with no issues (XP ). I know what you mean about being able to see the Show Display to keep up with the show. When I add a song to my "Guitar" playlist, I enter the Key and Capo information in the singer name column. It's useless if I can't see it.

All of us windows users will have to adjust to Vista, like it or not. Bill's people in their infante wisdom released vista before it was stable. It's still not stable to this date.

Again, go back to 4.03 and you should be okay.

Jim

Play guitar to Karaoke Wow!!

Hey Jim,

Couldn't help but comment on this one.I am only a vocalist and haven't really put the time into learning to play any of my guitars. That being said I do know a lot of musicians and thay all tell me that the hardest thing to do is to play along with pre-recorded music. So Kudos to you my friend because in my humble opinion that is a God given talent.
One of my keyboard playing friends always stresses how difficult it is to play with his midi files because of latency issues but he plays just fine to me.

Thanks again for adressing my issues. Yeah 4.03 will have to be the one for now.Don't really want to invest in a newer laptop because of Vista. It may have been misunderstood but I am running XP pro.

You are so correct and I thank GOD for the blessing.

Thanks Chuck, that's a nice thing to say. I just got off the road and I'm a little tired. I tried to digest all of the posts before I replied and missed the fact that you were using XPpro. Sorry for the confusion.

It seems to me that if MTU is having so many problems with getting the program to work on both XP and Vista, they would come up with a program that works with XP, and a seperate program that works with Vista, kinda like PC and MAC. I am not a computer wizzard, so I may not even know what I am talking about, just thinking outloud.

This was already suggested to MTU in the past. However, everything states that 4.04 fixed those problems & will work now on both XP & Vista. Vista problems now seem to be individual computer-related, from everything I've been reading on this Forum.
