I've got PROBLEMS!!

After patiently trying all troubleshooting tactics to fix my problems, I am coming up EMPTY!! Since installing 4.04 on vista my lyrics are running way behind music on second screen. I've updated graphics drivers and card (nvidia) and still to no avail. 4.03 version had no problems and ran very smoothly. I've went thru all troubleshooting steps (and I mean all) and am having no luck.

If I sound stressed.... I am!! My very first karaoke gig is next week and I'm starting to freak!!! HELP PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Make sure the Windows theme isn't set to Aero! Change it to Windows Classic. This could be a culprit.
Right click on the desktop, click on personalize, click theme. WHen the options come up, change to Windows Classic. See if that helps.

I almost there!

Lonman, I am about 95 % there. All the words are in time except the last line on the screen lags a little. Then the first line has to play catch -up. I dragged the screen to my monitor and reduced it to about 75% of the size and this seems to be working but would like to get a full screen. Thanks so much for your post at least I can stop losing my mind!

Lonman would be the best at working with you on this as he uses Vista. My suggestion would be to try dragging the Lyrics display to the TV and resize it as big as you can get it and still be in sync.

I was having the same problem in full screen (only single display however on my Vista tower), once I change the desktop theme to simpler theme, the lyrics were back in sync all the way in full screen mode.
Did you go through the steps I mentioned first?

gators66 September 20th, 2008 01:25 PM

lonman thank you for your assistance. I have done just about everything you mentioned and it has sped things up considerably. However, I still lag a little bit with the lyrics. When I double click the show display on my computer and it goes full screen it plays good but when I put that same display on a second monitor is when it starts to lag a bit.

That's because you are relieving the strain on your video by covering up the program. The video card no longer has to take care of the show display AND the program display. Vista takes a lot of video resources just to display an icon on your desktop display. I didn't notice, do you have a desktop or a laptop? You can try reducing the load on your video by backing off on some of the settings in your video card. Take the color down to 16-bit and try that. You can also lower the resolution a notch. Try dragging the corner of the singers window to fill the screen instead of double-clicking it. I feel like you are almost there. Just a couple more tweaks and you should have it.

I having the same prob, I should have kept 4.3, everything was working fine.

Is there anyway to revert back to 4.3?

gators66 September 20th, 2008 02:46 PM

yeah, I would like to know how to go back to 4.03. I see no way to fix this lagging problem and It wasn't an issue with 4.03. I bought the hoster lite 4.03 package for 2 computers (both laptops) and would like to know how to convert them back to 4.03

lmcmains September 20th, 2008 03:57 PM

You can go back and install 4.03. That is as long as you kept the download of 4.13 on a disc or on you computer. Just install 4.03 just like you did 4.04

Also make sure your Windows Sidebar is turned off if it's not already, this has also been known to use up a bunch of extra resources. I also hate this phrase, but are all your video drivers up to date?

gators66 September 20th, 2008 05:52 PM

re

No sidebar and everything is updated.

Well my laptop is doing just the opposite. It plays with the singer screen in a small corner but when I double click it or drag a corner to make it larger the song stutters, and often, with each stutter the cpu usage goes from 4% to 0% and then spikes to about 84-88% and the lyrics get out of sync worse with each stutter. I have submitted a support ticket and hope MTU can help.I will have to wait for the weekend to go by so they can get back to me but they have responded twice already.

So the cover up of the diplay doesn't work for my situation it's actually worse. What pains me most is 4.03 was doing just fine seems like every upgrade is one step forward two steps back. :e

In fact it's very slow to load again very remeniscent of Hoster 4.02:?

It's very frustrating isn't it? I have been working on this for about 10 hours and dont have any solution thus far. I have done everything that can possibly be done to remedy the lagging lyrics and NOTHING!!
I'm very disappointed with the upgrade and unfortunately I'm stuck with it!

KaraokeDj38030 September 21st, 2008 05:46 AM

no problem here

Ok guys it seems that you are all wanting to convert back to 4.03 all you have to do ( hopefully you are a smart KJ and saved your 4.03 app.) is uninstall 4.04 then reinstall 4.03 it uses the same registration code as your 4.xx app.

I personally have not experanced any of the problems you are discribing however I am using XP not VISTA.... I keep all my upgrade apps. in a seperate folder in case I have to convert back to an earlier version, and it works well this way I had problems with 4.0 to 4.2 so I went back to 3.xx until 4.03 CAME OUT had no problems with 4.03 and now running 4.04 and it runs like a dream. Sorry you are all having hard time but converting back is easier than you think and you are never stuck with something that won't work if you save ll your apps, and work with MTU to help make improvements.:w

does anyone need version 1.7 ?? :g:g:g:g

gators66 September 21st, 2008 10:26 AM

Unfortunately, I dont have the 4.03 app. as you mentioned. When I upgraded to 4.04 it overwrites 4.03 and I cant find it anywhere. I purchased the hoster lite 4.03 with 2 appl and have put them on two laptops. Is there anyway I can get 4.03 back on my main laptop(hp vista)
Thanks

I too had so many problems with 4.04, that I reverted back to 4.03..the simplest way to do it in XP is to use system restore.. go back to a date before you installed 4.04. I am not familiar with vista.
