The key change does exactly that. Changes the key. It does not speed up or slow the song down. The only time the tempo seems to come into play is at the beginning of the night and at the end of the night.

Many who have NOT had anything to drink seem to think the song is a little slow. Then later in the evening when they have had a "tad" too much, the words seem to go by very fast at times!
