You say it is compatible. How do you know it is? The older versions of Microstudio are drive specific. Since this drive was produce 5 years ago I am not sure I would call it new.
Have you downloaded the latest firmware updates from Plextor for that drive? FYI: You should have posted this in the Microstudio Help forum instead of here.
