hi i have microstudio 2.400 and have been using it for a while with no probs but latley i have bought a new plextor px-w5224ta and now my microstudio does not recognize it.it is compatible i checked that .i would be very grateful for yr help ty

You say it is compatible. How do you know it is? The older versions of Microstudio are drive specific. Since this drive was produce 5 years ago I am not sure I would call it new.
Have you downloaded the latest firmware updates from Plextor for that drive?

Just went back through the Microstudio versions, and it seems the Plextor 52x24xx52 did not exist at the time Microstudio 2400 was beng marketed, and first appeared with version 2506 released 8/12/03.

Microstudio 2400 released 12/20/02 supported the Plextor 48x24x48.
