If you want them listed by brand name and discid you can't use custom assembly. Custom Assembly is for those you want to have in the same bookid but don't want to keep original brand/discid or those filews you have created/modified yourself which wouldn't have a brand.

By using the DiscIDs for existing discs then Hoster is telling you this is not a custom assembly and asking for the correct brand.

I don't know if I agree that hoster is telling me that it is not a custom assembly and asking for the correct brand. Remember I told you in an earlier post I got around the issue. The way I got around it was to keep trying it over and over. Not changing any of the information, just kept starting over and over again using custom assembly and on the, I don't know 50th time it magically accepted it and imported them. Imported 1230 zip files. Now these were Chartbuster 6 + 6 Country and Sound Choice Spotlight Series. After building the song database I checked in the search field and all of these newly imported files Kept the original Brand name and DiscID. Again I used Custom Assembly.

That's because you can't use the same discid for different brands although usually hoster will tell you this and give you the option of changing Brands or cancelling.

I'm not trying to use the same disc ID for different brands. Why would hoster even have a problem figuring that out when disc id's for different brands are not similar at all? This post has been going on for almost a week now. All I want to do is import a lot of files consisting of different brands which in the manual it claims it can be done and quite fast I might add. Is the manual not correct? Is there an updated way of doing this?

The manual is correct, but the problem is we can't see (visually) exactly what you are doing. Unfortunately written descriptions are a poor substitute at best, so sometimes it takes us longer to understand. It is most likely something simple that is preventing the import and I doubt it is the whole batch.

Dale, ( a note to the file)
I believe i have different disc ID's under the same brand name, and vica-versa.
