Last track will not copy - updated drive firmware and it now works fine

I have been following the forum on copying the last track on a multi. I also have that problem. I have the latest of everything, the software, a drive that copies everything , except that last track. My drive reads the disk in every other player I have, except this one. Why. That is why I bought the upgrade. Can someone give me some insight. I have read the manual to see if I am missing something. In this case it really did not help.

what is it doing with the last track when you're importing? Does it show that it's not imported? Is it hanging at the end of the import?

A few more details may help

Hoster 3.301 received a MAJOR overhaul to make importing the last track of a Multisession CDG disc as good as it can get. If you don't have 3.301, get it.

From the manual: "Hoster can import the last track from most Multisession format CDG discs. There are some discs where the last track has been mastered wrong, and we cannot correct that."

A technique that users evolved is to eject the disc while importing the last track when the progress bar appears to "hang" and not show further progress. The song will be on the hard drive, with some silence at the end.

However, the 3.301 changes, to our current knowledge, overcame most of the need to eject the disc.

Please post the Disc Brand and DiscID number so we know what you are struggling with.

response to last track not copying

The disk I am copying are the "all Hits brands" and "backstage". I have other brands ,I stopped when I noticed the below problem.
when I read the above disk in a normal audio program like Musicmatch or windows media, all audio filkes show and everything plays fine. When I put it in your program , import from cd, everything shows but last song to import. It is not even listed. It will import everything else and it all works great. Just can not get the last song to display to import, can not get that song.
With that said, I have tried this over and over and have the same problem. No listing for the last song. however, I put a "Radio Starz" disk in this morning and it picked up and showed and copied every song. I then went back and put ing several of the "all hits " and backstage disks and it still will not pick up the last song. Any suggestions. I need these songs.

Something to try

This has worked in similiar situations in the past.

Try inserting the disk in the cdrom before opening hoster. If by some chance that should work, your drive should continue to see all the tracks at least untill you change brands.

After some thought on this I actually had to use another drive. A Plextor PXW-5224 to read the CDG's, the Plextor 740 would not read all the tracks on the discs. So never mind .....hey been up all nite and half the morning so...ya know the mind gets kinda foggy without much rest. Like some have suggested before in other threads in this forum, you may try making a copy and trying to load it.

Every time that I have seen this problem is has been related to the drive itself.

If anyone else has this problem, please let me know the exact model of the drive that you are trying to use.

last track still not showing

Thanks for all of the replies. I have tried all of your suggestions to get the last track to show up. Still no luck. I have tried everything. Only thing I have not done is buy another drive. I have tried it on 3 different ones, same result. Does not really make any sense. I need to get more suggestions, I reallyt need to get these songs. It ends up being thousands of songs. Some of them popular with singers. Any other suggestions. Program works great except for this problem.

Facts... facts...facts... please!

allphaseone, you still have not given us at least ONE DiscID-Brand that does not show the last track. Without the DiscID number, we can't help much further.

Also, post the exact brand and model number of the CDR/DVDR drive you are using.

Also, post the exact Hoster version you are using. Click the Help menu, About Hoster command to see this. Post it here.

There are too many variables here to identify what is going wrong. We need to know the three answers above.

response to last track not copying

In a previous message I actually mentioned that all of the "All Hits" series disk and "Backstage" series disk are what I tried and all of them do not show the last song to copy. However, when I put in a Radio Starz disk, in the same burner, it works fine. It showed all 18 songs. The burner I use is a LITE-ON dvdrw ldw 851s external. I have tried it however with other burners and it does the same thing.

I am using 3.301 which I just downloaded. Let me know what else you need.

this is what i was telling you i have all of the all hits disc (after reading this post i went and look at about 30 of them no protec on them)
and i can tell you for a fact none of them have any type of protection on them

if you remember all hits has allways given us a hard way to go

when i was testing we had found a few problems that were related to all hits

but i have no problem importing them into hoster

but i am using a plextor cdg drive i am not using your software decoding

could this be waer the problem is just thinking out load

the only reason i say that is the plextor drives i use have no problem with allhits disc . with no problem good luck mike
plextor
24/10 40a
12/4/32
48/24/48u
all these drives are importing the all hits and backstage disc

Here is another Thread Speaking of this type of issue. http://forum.mtu.com/showthread.php?...highlight=3400

I got 2 of these discs in Yesterday. The ones that I have are SC3400 and SC3314, they are multisession and they show all 16 tracks on both Discs using the following drives:

Plextor PX-716AL Firmware Version: 1.02
Plextor PX-740A Firmware Version 1.01 NOTE:This drive does not normally work correctly for Multisession discs, but with these it is working fine.
Plextor PX-716A Firmware Version: 1.09
Pioneer DVR-K05 Firmware Version : 1.03(Laptop drive)

They show all 16 tracks on both of the discs on all the listed drives above, so this must be a hardware related problem.

Try updating your Firmware for your Plextor drives from:http://www.plextor.com/english/suppo...oads.html#firm Select the model of your Plextor drive, and download and update to the latest firmware.

I would say on your system the problem is the Liteon Drive. Those are OEM cheap drives, and don't have all the bells and whistles as Plextor does.

To make your life easier, get a Plextor PX-716A drive. It works perfect.

We sell this drive at: http://www.mtu.com/basics/karaokecdr.htm
