In stead of a paper chase I have CDRW chase. I had a new Lite-On LTR-52246S, Microstudio 2.517 could not see it. After reading a few post in the forum I understood that it was not compatible so I bought a new Plextor PX-W5224TA as this is the one of the drives that many have spoke highly of. Microstudio still shows that I don't have a drive that will work.
The only drive so far that I have been able to get to work is an old HP 10X CDRW at work and I can't have that one. So I guess my next and only option is to buy the hardware from MTU. Not to be snippy but something’s not right about that to me.
Thanks for letting me vent, I'd be grateful for any insight.

P.S FYI when I test from a drive there is nothing at all listed.
