![]() I am running V 5.09.02
This playlist I have been using for a couple of years with V 4.30 and never thought about creating a singers database. Now I am trying right now to add songs to the singers database. I created a new name form the Playlist to add to the singers database by right mouse button on the song. A submenu shows to add to that singers database. I click that option to add. I check the singers database and it does not show in the singers database. I try refresh DB for that singer and still nothing. Now I know this has worked as I have used this a week before. Now all of a sudden it stops adding ![]() So, I restarted Hoster, tried adding to the singers database and I will be able to add a song to a singers database. But only one song will work. NO more songs will get added to any singers database from the Playlist. ![]() |

Seeing as you are new to this you probably don't have a very long list of names, try starting from scratch, to do this: start Hoster, from the Tools Menu select "Hoster Data Folder", when the folder opens close Hoster but keep the folder open. Now look for "singers.mdb" right click on it and choose rename and name it something like "singersold.mdb" close the folder and restart Hoster this will create a new empty singers.mdb. The renaming is just for back up purposes you can always name it back later if you want. Now see if you can add more singers. When you right click on the song in the playlist the fly out window would be greyed out if there is not a singers name in the name column or would say "Add to xxxx Songs, xxxx being the singers name. Or you should be able to double left click on the singers name and either select one from the list or just type a new name press enter to clear the edit box then right click the song and it should then allow adding that new name straight to the singers database even if that singer was not in the database previously.

![]() Ok I tried as you suggested. I have not opened Access and as a rule I probably would never.
With no names in the singers database, I right mouse button clicked on one in the Playlist, "add" . I checked the database and sure enough it was added and the only one right now in the database. But I can not get any more of that singers songs to add to the singers database doing the same process. Although I can add more singers to the database, but I can not add more songs to the singers database by using the Playlist. Crazy huh ![]() |

When you click on the singers column from the playlist and either type in a new name or an existing singer that is listed, it is important that you hit enter. Now with that song highlighted you again right click on the song and the pop up window will list add to *****(singer) to list. If you don't do it this way it won't add. Walt |

Well if the singer's name is in the singers database and in the playlist, shouldn't I just be able to add a song next to their name to that singers database from the playlist? ![]() |

Are you referring to the Add button in the singers database dialog ? If so that is the button for placing them back on the playlist. When you right click on the playlist song you should see the singers name appear after the word "add to" I attach picture to show this in case you are not seeing the same.

![]() Yes Roy
In The Playlist. I can add a new singer to the singers list. But when I look to see if that song was added the singers list is empty. Sometimes when I restart Hoster I get 1 song to get added and no more. I can add songs to the singers list through the search song database. There has to be something that got changed or I changed so that I can only add the singer and no songs from the playlist. I am packed up for the next show tonight. Tomorrow I'll off load and setup in the house and go through the process again and let you know ![]() |

Are your songs on an external drive ?
If so it sounds like your volume letter has changed. Read how to change it back here: http://www.mtu.com/kb/kb/index.php?a...e&id=4&relid=1

Re: Hoster 5.09 Has been released May 28, 2013
From the build Songs database dialog, do you see the list of folders there ?
Are they all showing with the C:\ drive as the volume path ? If so select one, do you see the contents of the folders appear in the right hand window ?

Can you try using system restore ?
Select a date as near as possible to the time before the problem occurred.
