nevermind, i fixed it by double clicking the snd and the main board came up, i dont have a singers display hooked up to the computer yet.

Re: Hoster 5.09 Has been released May 28, 2013
When you say your background screen, are you saying your singers screen is showing full screen so covering up the controls screen ?
If so can't you double click the screen to send it back to normal ? |

I must have answered it while you were replying :w

Re: Hoster 5.09 Has been released May 28, 2013
not sure why the first screen to pop up after the splash (hoster) screen would be the singers display. i tried messing with the extend a screen (windows key+P) would not do anything.
i actually had to double click the area where the names appear. |
Re: Hoster 5.09 Has been released May 28, 2013
Beavis,
The reason this happened. Since you did not have your Second Display attached, it went full screen on the single display. NEW - Dual Display - We made a change to make this more reliable. If your Video Card shows your primary monitor as number 2 and the TV as 1, prior versions would not go full screen on the correct monitor. It would jump back to your Desktop. You would then have to drag the screen to the Tv, and stretch it out to fill the screen. You now can double click and we will match the Primary screen so that we always find the intended singers monitor. |
Re: Hoster 5.09 Has been released May 28, 2013
I just downloaded and installed 5.09 today on Windows 8 system. I was pleased to see it built my database for me, but it left out a song.
This brings up a new question as how many more songs did the program not bring into the database. Should I manually remove the KMH files and text file and import those in the folders that I am aware of?:? |
Re: Hoster 5.09 Has been released May 28, 2013
Did you get any message that some songs were not imported ?
It may be that they are in the quarantine folder. Open Hoster go to Tools/Hoster Data folder and look in the quarantine folder. Files that error now go into here. |
Re: Hoster 5.09 Has been released May 28, 2013
No messages other than "Hoster had a problem and has to close"
|
Re: Hoster 5.09 Has been released May 28, 2013
The message seemed like at the end of the build though
|
Re: Hoster 5.09 Has been released May 28, 2013
Did the Hoster must close message appear while the database was building ?
Have you looked in the quarantine folder like I asked ? If your songs are on an external drive, was it connected while it was rebuilding ? |

Re: Hoster 5.09 Has been released May 28, 2013
This is what I would try first:
If your music is on an external drive make sure it's connected. Open Hoster, from the Tools menu select Songs database/Build Database check down the list of folders is listing all your song file paths. Then press the rebuild database button. As it starts the dialog opens will say something like building xx songs of xxxxx amount, note what the of amount is because that is how many songs it's trying to import. Then see if the same problem occurs as before, try to note how many songs it gets to before closing. If it builds without a problem the dialog at the end should tell you so or tell you x amount did not and where to look. |
Re: Hoster 5.09 Has been released May 28, 2013
Ok, I try that as I didn't recall the info as you suggest. thanks

Re: Hoster 5.09 Has been released May 28, 2013
Good discovery. The Delete function was not intended to be available in the Search dialog. The only way to delete songs is in the Edit Songs dialog, which has safeguards against accidental deletion, and also lists the BookIDs that have been removed from the Song Book. I have fixed this.
By the way, Delete was also appearing in the Singers List window, but it doesn't make sense there either, so I fixed this, too. Just noticed this, isn't the delete function in the singers' list used to remove songs from the singers list. Unless I am misinterpreting this somehow, this would be a useful function, wouldn't it? |
