Re: Hoster 5.09 Has been released May 28, 2013

Thanks again Roy. That folder was full. I have deleted the files and it did not affect anything in my database. So far working great. I will keep you posted.

Thanks,
Brett

Uhhuh and Bburton,
Can you two tell me what type of files your using and exactly what steps you are using when these folders are getting full?

We have been digging through the code all day today and have not yet run into anything that would cause your situation, so we need more information on this.

We need to know what types of files, etc.... with as Much information as you can give us.

I am having this same problem with version 5.09.02. I have deleted all of my kmh files and basically started over using the Build Database function. My hard drive went from 169GB used to 500GB used. Knowing the Hoster creates kmh files, I was able to determine that the Temp folder was not being deleted after the process completed. Manually cleaning this folder allowed me to continue. This is abviously a bug. When will we get an update?

I also noticed that many of my zip files (an entire folder from what I can tell) will not import. I used my prior version of Hoster (5.04) and so far, all of these files import using the older version. I have not found a thread on this issue.

I found that some of my tracks (zip) are not parsing the name fields correctly. They are appearing in the song list as Track 1, Unknown, "Unknown Brand", etc for Title, Artist, Brand, etc. The zip file name is correctly typed to match the field order.

I am running Hoster on a Dell Studio 1745 running Windows 7 (64 bit) with 6GB RAM and Intel Core Duo CPU P8700 @2.53 GHz. All MS updates have been applied and I have been using this laptop with Hoster for at leat three years.

I have a week long Gig coming up in 6 weeks and I need to work on my Songbooks before reprinting them.

Any help would be appreciated.

How did you delete the kmh files ? Via Hosters Edit dialog or via Windows explorer ?

Why I ask this is because if you delete them via Hosters edit dialog it also removes them from the existing database but just deleting the kmh file in explorer won't register them missing unless you rebuild the database with none of the Song types to index selected or rebuild the database before adding folders to the list so as to build an empty songs.mdb.

It is being worked on, can't give an exact date.

Do you get a message appear giving a reason like duplicated or any other message ? wondering if it is anything to do with you deleting them in explorer. If they are all in one folder you could try opening the folder and look for the "ImportedFiles.txt" file and just for backup purposes rename it something like "temp-ImportedFiles.txt" then see if they will import, if they still don't import see if it created a new "ImportedFiles.txt" if so open it in word or notepad and see if it is empty or list the song paths. If empty you could replace it with the renamed file. Alternatel you said you imported them via the Build Database function, have you tried reimporting them via the Index Hard drive Files dialog ? You may have to un-tick the hide indexed tracks box to see them appear in the lower window, if they show as already imported you could just select them and re-import.

I may be able to tell something if you can send me a sample as mentioned in my PM.

Re: Hoster 5.09 Has been released May 28, 2013

We were able to find and fix this issue with the Temp Files, it only occurred when using .zip files and the Import Songs\Build Songs Database\Zip selection. We have fixed this, and some other issues and should be releasing Version 5.10.01 in the next day!
